What is Crack Seal Joint Tape used for?
Crack Seal Joint Tape is designed to seal cracks and joints in asphalt pavements. It creates a waterproof, durable bond that prevents water ingress and extends the life of the surface.
How do I apply the tape?
Clean and dry the area, lay the tape sticky-side down over the crack or joint, and apply heat using a propane torch. The tape melts into the surface, forming a strong seal. For full instructions, refer to our Installation Guide.
Do I need special equipment to use this product?
No specialist equipment is required; just a standard propane blowtorch. A wide torch head (50mm or more) is recommended for even heating.
How long before the surface is traffic-ready?
The tape sets within minutes after heating and can typically be driven or walked on shortly after application. Allow to cool before exposing to heavy traffic.
Can I use this product on all types of cracks?
This tape is perfect for sealing clean, dry, linear cracks and joints. However, it’s not suitable for extensive "crocodile" or "alligator" cracking. Such areas should be excavated and resealed properly.
How should I store unused rolls?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally under 40°C. Keep the rolls in their original packaging with the glossy dividers to prevent sticking.
Will the tape hold up in extreme weather?
Yes. Once bonded, the tape is resistant to water, temperature fluctuations, and UV exposure, making it suitable for year-round use in Australian climates.
